Windham Tech remains unbeaten in CTC East

Jan. 26—WILLIMANTIC — Senior Trey Lindsey led four players in double figures with 24 points as the Windham Tech boys basketball team used a balanced offensive attack on Tuesday night for a 92- 73 Connecticut Technical Conference Charter Oak East Division victory over Norwich Tech.

Lindsey also grabbed 14 rebounds to put the finishing touches on his fourth consecutive double- double for the Mighty Tigers (8-3, 4- 0 league).

Dezmen Gaston added 19 points and five assists, Brody Belanger had 18 points and seven rebounds while Brady Marsh finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and five steals as Windham Tech, which made eight 3- point field goals, led 22- 12 after one quarter and 45- 29 at halftime.

Josh Hanks paced the Warriors (3-9, 1-3) with 25 points.

In other games ... Travis Mangual scored 21 points for Windham, which dropped a 82- 65 Eastern Connecticut Conference inter- division game to No. 10 St. Bernard in Uncasville.

The Whips ( 7- 4) rallied from a double- digit deficit ( 20- 8) after one quarter to take a 33- 31 halftime lead. Julian Cruz ( 16 points) made three 3- point field goals in the second quarter and Mangual put Windham ahead at the break after connecting on a 3- point shot at the buzzer while losing his sneaker in the process.

Tahj Jones and Tyler Mangual each added 13 points for Windham, which was outscored 26-11 in the third quarter.

Amare Marshall led five players in double figures with 19 points for the Saints ( 10- 2), who have defeated all of its ECC opponents by at least 15 points this season.

Jaiden Lopez had 19 points for Lyman Memorial in a 80- 47 ECC inter- division loss to Griswold in Lebanon.

Kevin Botticello scored 17 points for the Bulldogs (8-5).

Christian Russell ( 16 points), Tommy Mattson (15) and Jeff Souvenance ( 13 points, 9 rebounds) paced the Wolverines (112) GIRLS BASKETBALL

Charlotte Jordan had 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in leading Coventry past Suffield, 48- 31, in a North Central Connecticut Conference game.

Anaka Eaton scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds while Jianna Foran had 14 points and five assists for the Patriots (10-4, 5-2 league).

Windham Tech remained undefeated in the CTC Charter Oak East Division with a 45- 20 victory at Norwich Tech.

Baylee Miller scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers (9-3, 4-0).

Serenity Lancaster ( 29 points, 17 rebounds, 7 blocks) powered New London to a 64-30 ECC inter- division victory over Windham at Callaghan Gymnasium.

Hailey Flores led the Whips (6-7) with 17 points.

Nalyce Dudley added 29 points, 12 rebounds and four steals for the Whalers (10-3).

E. O. Smith ( 10- 3) had its 4- game winning streak come to end after dropping a 39- 31 CCC inter- divison game at No. 8 Simsbury (12-2), which has won 10 out of their last 11 games.

HOCKEY

Austin Jonas and Shane Pourmaleki scored goals for Northeastern in a 5- 2 Central Connecticut Conference South Division loss to Hall on Monday night at the Bolton Ice Palace.

Alex Stoner assisted on both goals, including Pourmaleki's with 8: 01 remaining in the third period, that tied things up at 2- 2 for the Shamrocks (1-10, 1-8).

Charles Croce broke the deadlock with 3: 10 remaining and Declan Stone and CJ Cohen each added empty- net goals in the final 70 seconds for Hall (8-2, 7-1).
