Windy Fire in Sequoia National Park 40 Percent Contained

Firefighters worked to contain the Windy Fire burning in California’s Sequoia National Park as officials said the blaze neared 90,000 acres on October 1.

About 2,500 personnel were responding to the lightning-caused fire, which spread across 89,804 acres (140 square miles) and was 40 percent contained.
