EVANSVILLE, Ind. — We're bringing you Tri-State restaurant happenings and food news you need to know. Here's the latest.

Los Alfaro's Latin restaurant is closing in its current 1021 S. Weinbach Ave. location after Sunday, July 17, and will reopen at the new Kratzville Road location on Thursday, July 21. The new building will have room for private events and parties. New menu items will be coming, and beer, wine and tropical cocktails will still be offered.

Los Alfaro's will be at 5201 Kratzville Road; 812-550-1186.

Madeleine’s Fusion Restaurant has launched a new summer cocktail menu. On it are, among others, the Painkiller with creme de coco, pineapple and orange juice and Papa's Pilar 6-year-old dark rum; a Garden Mule with Tito's vodka, St. Germaine elderflower liqueur, lime and house cucumber syrup; and the Canary in the Coal Mine with Teremana Reposado tequila, lime, agave, Curaçao, and house jalapeño and canary melon syrup.

The Milk Barn Café, once a food trailer, is now open in its brick-and-mortar home on Read Street in the former Read St. BBQ building. Your favorite firecakes doughnuts and coffee drips are available mornings from 7-11 a.m. (closed Tuesdays) with ice cream on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. A lunch menu is coming.

Mission Grounds by ERM coffee shop is opening inside Washington Square Mall on Monday, July 11. It will be adjacent to the The Thrift Store by Evansville Rescue Mission. Stop in for coffee drinks and pastries.

Coffee shop and more: Downtown Newburgh needed a coffee shop. Now it has one on the riverfront.

The Wine Vault and Just Rennie's Catering and Cookie Co. will be partnering to host a wine tasting dinner at Just Rennie's on Friday, July 15, beginning at 6 p.m. The four-course menu will include charcuterie, meatballs in marinara, rack of lamb with edamame and sun-dried tomato risotto, veal picatta with pasta and angel food cake with strawberries and Grand Marnier. The cost is $90 per person including tax and gratuity. Call 812-401-8098 to reserve.

Schymik's Kitchen is now offering a new weekly prix fixe menu special called "Taste of America." Each week a meal based on a different city or region of the United States will be offered in addition to the regular menu, until the food runs out. "Prix fixe" means "fixed price," so all courses come as a complete meal for one price, no substitutions. The cost of the meal will vary by week.
