Wine pick: Domaine De Menard Cuvee Marine 2020, France

Here is a fabulous Southern French sipper that will turn heads. Menard is a small family-owned winery in Gascony in the southwest. In 1920, Swiss winegrower Jean Morel bought the property and now the third generation is making the wines.

The wine is a blend 60% colombard, 20% sauvignon blanc and 20% gros manseng. Wonderful aromatics of orange zest, ruby red grapefruits and spice fill the glass. Mouthwatering flavors of peach, pears and apricots fill the palate with a snappy mouthwatering finish. Excellent minerality and vibrant acidity make this wine come alive.

This is tons of wine for the price and will be great before or with a meal.

Pair with: fried walleye, shrimp alfredo, pan seared scallops, goat cheese or just chill and sip.

Price: $12.99
