WinField United expands in Wichita Falls

WinField United held a ground-breaking ceremony Wednesday for their expansion of a local facility in Wichita Falls.

The plan includes consolidating their regional operations into a single plant here in the city.

WinField United is a part of Land O’Lakes, Inc. and focuses on seed, crop protection products, crop nutrients, agricultural services and agronomic insights.

“WinField United has deep roots in Wichita Falls and we are glad to be able to call it home for our newest distribution center. We’re proud to work with our retail-owners each day to support their customers and communities, and we are excited for the opportunity to service Texas and Oklahoma from right here in Wichita Falls,” stated WinField United Area Manager Heath Gholson.

The company has five operations across Texas and Oklahoma and has chosen to keep the operation in Wichita Falls and build a new facility in the Wichita Falls Business Park off U.S. 287.  The expansion will retain the current eight employees and add eight additional positions.

"WinField United and Land O’Lakes have been pillars in our community for over 70 years and we look forward to seeing their continued success in Wichita Falls,” Director of Business Retention and Expansion Taylor Davis said.

“The Wichita Falls Chamber is proud to support the local competitive expansion of WinField United and is excited to see them take up residence in the Wichita Falls Business Park. WinField United and Land O’Lakes have been pillars in our community for over 70 years and we look forward to seeing their continued success in Wichita Falls,” Director of Business Retention and Expansion Taylor Davis said.

The company was offered an incentive package estimated at $2.2 million and includes a forgivable loan, land donation, cash for jobs, employee relocation assistance, and reimbursement for fees and permits. All incentives are performance-based.

“With the construction of their new facility, WinField United will be taking advantage of recent business park infrastructure improvements approved by the WFEDC board and City Council in 2021,” stated the Wichita Falls Economic Development Corporation President Leo Lane.
