Wingsuit Jumpers Race Down Alpine Mountain in Northern Italy

A professional wingsuit diver documented an unusual race that took place in Northern Italy on December 21, as fellow jumpers took off from the Alpine summit Sass Pordoi.

Dominik Ertl, who has nearly 2,000 jumps under his belt over the past 10 years, told Storyful that Sass Pordoi was one of his favourite spots and that the group wasn’t new to the location.

He recorded the footage, in which three divers can be seen jumping off the mountain and floating above the area, in Trentino-South Tyrol.

Ertl captioned the video “who will win?” on YouTube but warned that wingsuit BASE jumping was one of the most dangerous extreme sports. BASE is an acronym for building, antenna, span (such as a bridge), and earth.

“Good training and experience are mandatory to live a long life,” Ertl said. Credit: Dominik Ertl via Storyful
