Winner announced! The best waterfront restaurant champion crowned for Volusia and Flagler
Editor’s note: In the closing hours of the final Daytona Beach News-Journal bracket challenge polling, editors noticed suspect votes with international IP addresses from all over the world populating, and in some cases skewing, the results. It was determined by editors, in consultation with the polling company, that these were likely bogus votes. All international votes were filtered out of the championship matchup polls to determine the final results.
The crown for best waterfront restaurant in Volusia and Flagler counties has been determined following four rounds of weekly, March Madness-style voting that started March 6. Last week's championship found Break Awayz against Tortugas. Break-Awayz is just across the street from the Atlantic coastline in Flagler. Tortugas Florida Kitchen and Bar is another Flagler Beach favorite. When the polls closed at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, Tortugas emerged victorious.

A two-story eatery with fun food and drinks to pair with beachfront views, Tortugas is a spot for those wanting a bite and drink before, during, or after a day at the beach. The beachside restaurant opened in 2016 and has live music and late hours to guarantee fun no matter the time.

Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach, and is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
