Hononegah swimmer Cale Miles was voted the Rockford Register Star athlete of the week for his performance from Feb. 6-11.

Miles earned just over 42% of the votes, beating out East swimmer Camden Taylor, who came in second with a more than 36% of the votes.

Miles, a sophomore, won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 butterfly and swam on two winning relay teams to win the maximum four events at the NIC-10 meet. That helped Hononegah win its 13th consecutive NIC-10 title.

Voting for the next athlete of the week begins Tuesday. The full list of nominees runs online at rrstar.com on Tuesdays and in print Wednesdays. Winners are announced online Fridays and in print on Sundays.
