Forreston's Brooke Boettner was voted as the Rockford Register Star athlete of the week.

Boettner earned 43 percent of the votes, beating out Pecatonica's Cooper Hoffman, who came in second place this week.

Boettner, a senior, flirted with a quadruple-double, scoring 13 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out nine assists and nabbing seven steals as Forreston pounded Kirkland Hiawatha 63-16 last week.

Voting for the next athlete of the week begins Tuesday. The full list of nominees runs in print each Wednesday, and the winner will be announced in print every Sunday. To nominate a player or group of players, email Jay Taft at jtaft@rrstar.com by 9 a.m. each Monday. Last week's winner was Guilford girls basketball player Avery Green, who earned 75 percent of the votes.
