Nordonia High School hosted the annual Americanism and Government Test Program sponsored by The American Legion. This is a statewide, civics-based program administered locally by the American Legion Nordonia Hills Post 801 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 801.

The test encourages students to learn about the country’s national, state and local governments. It comprises 50 true/false, multiple choice, and fill-in the blank questions. Students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades are eligible. An essay question is included as a tie breaker.

The winners’ tests are now forwarded to the 14th District of Ohio for judging and may then be forwarded to state and national departments for further consideration. If successful they could be awarded monetary recognition by the 14th District, Department of Ohio and possibly be awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC and Gettysburg.
