Winners and losers from 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship

Mackenzie Hughes was the biggest winner from the Sanderson Farms Championship, claiming his second PGA Tour victory and first since November 2016.

But there were other winners — and losers — during the event at the Country Club of Jackson.

Winners

Hayden Buckley: The Tupelo High School product shot 7-under 65 in the final round to finish 10 under and tied for 19th. Buckley secured his seventh top-25 finish on the PGA Tour.

Dean Burmester: Burmester had one top-10 finish on the PGA Tour before the Sanderson Farms Championship. That all changed with a strong third round that moved him into the top 10 entering Sunday. He finished with a 67 to finish fourth.

Garrick Higgo: The three-year pro shot 68 on Sunday to finish third at 15-under. Higgo and Burmester made it two South Africans finishing in the top five.

Losers

Sam Burns: The defending champion had a rocky final two rounds with a 71 Saturday and 70 Sunday. Burns, fresh off his Presidents Cup victory earlier this month, finished tied for 30th at 8-under.

Mark Hubbard: The 10-year pro entered the final round at 15-under and with a 1-shot lead over Hughes. Hubbard, seeking his first Tour win, shot 2-over 74 to finish tied for fifth.

Sahith Theegala: Theegala led after three rounds in last year's Sanderson Farms Championship and finished tied for eighth at 19-under. However, Theegala missed the cut this week in Jackson.
