STRASBURG – The Strasburg Lions Club recently held its annual car, truck and motorcycle show at ProVia, with 114 cars participating. Soon after the judging was completed, a summer rainfall began and sent the cars and other vehicles seeking shelter.

Dave Avon of New Philadelphia won best of show with a 1940 Ford Deluxe. Bob Feutz of Parral, was the president’s choice with a 1949 ½ Chevrolet Convertible.

Other winners in order of finish were:

  • Historical (Pre 1980’s) — Gary Brick, New Philadelphia, 1960 Chevrolet Camaro.

  • Ford - Mike Shane — Bolivar, 1965 Ford Mustang.

  • Thunderbird — Dave Donato, Dover, 1964 T-Bird.

  • Chevrolet — Adam Kilgore, Navarre,1964 Chevelle.

  • Corvette — Chris Helwig, Bolivar, 1967 Corvette Stingray.

  • Other GM model — Bill Scott, Strasburg, 1966 Oldsmobile Convertible.

  • Chrysler — Raymond Barth, Canton, 2005 Dodge Hemi Wagon.

  • Truck — Ron Stine, Cadiz, 1997 Dodge Ram.

  • Other (open class) — Wanda Shoup, Beach City, 1941 Willie’s Coup.

  • Rat Rod — Joe Linard, New Philadelphia, 1950 Ford F-I truck.

  • Motorcycle — Kenny Jones, Newcomerstown, , Harley Road King.

Trophies were provided by Wolf’s Lawn and Landscaping of Strasburg. Other sponsors were Miller and Company Portable Toilet Services, Toland Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory and ProVia.
