In Florida, there were also five people who won smaller pots. Three people are bringing home $2 million.

Channel 9 spoke with experts who said a prize that big often comes with bigger problems.

“The fact is, 70% of lottery winners end up losing all their money,” said Craig Kirsner with Stuart Estate Planning.
Kirsner said that once a person’s family and friends know they won, everyone wants a piece of the pie.

He said if you ever win a large cash prize, you should keep your winnings private for a while and hire a tax accountant.
