Winning lottery ticket sold in Aiken

Apr. 6—A $300,000 winning lottery ticket was purchased in Aiken.

According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, the winner told lottery officials he was taking a break and recalled that he purchased a ticket for $10 from the V Mart on Dragstrip Road in Aiken.

He scratched the ticket and discovered that he won.

"I never thought it would happen to me," he said of winning, according to a news release from South Carolina Education Lottery. "This is going to work out great."

The odds of the person winning was 1 in 900,000 for one of the top three prizes of $300,000 in the $300 Grand game.

V Mart in Aiken received a $3,000 commission for selling the ticket.
