Nobody won the multi-million dollar jackpot in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, but someone who recently bought a ticket in South Carolina did capture a five-figure prize.

A $50,000 winning ticket was sold at a gas station/convenience store in Columbia, South Carolina Education Lottery officials said in a news release.

The winning Mega Millions game was bought at the Shiv Food Mart at 1609 North Beltline Blvd., according to the release. That’s by the intersection with Trenholm Road, near the Forest Acres area.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls, along with the gold Megaball number, according to the release.

The winning numbers from Tuesday’s drawing were 9, 21, 28, 30, 52 and Megaball: 10.

Because the winner bought the Megaplier option for an additional dollar, the non-jackpot prize multiplied by five, lottery officials said

The winner has 180 days to claim the prize, according to lottery officials.

The winner will be allowed to retain some privacy, as South Carolina is one of eight states — along with Delaware, Kansas, Georgia, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and Texas — that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the Megaball number are 1-in-931,001, according to the release.

“Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” lottery officials said.

The Shiv Food Mart will receive a commission of $500 for selling the winning ticket when it is turned in to lottery officials.

There was another five-digit prize winning ticket sold in the Midlands from Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, according to the release. A ticket worth $10,000 was purchased at the Lucknow Mini Mart at 3383 Lucknow Rd. in Bishopville.
