The Powerball lottery jackpot continued to climb after no one matched all six numbers on Saturday night, as the jackpot grows to the fifth-largest Powerball prize ever and cracks the top 10 lottery jackpots of all time.

Here are the numbers for the Monday, Jan. 1, Powerball jackpot worth an estimated $842 million with a cash option of $425.2 million.

Powerball winning numbers 1/1/24: $842M drawing jackpot

The winning numbers for Monday night's drawing were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49, and the Powerball is 1. The Power Play was 3X.

Did anyone win the Powerball, Monday, Jan. 1st, 2024?

Yes. One winning ticket was bought at a Food Castle located at 3035 E. Grand Blanc Road, Grand Blanc, Mich., that matched all six numbers to win the Powerball jackpot.

Four tickets matched all five numbers except for the Powerball worth $1 million. They were purchased in California, Connecticut, Florida, and Maryland. Another two tickets sold in Florida and Texas matched all five numbers except for the Powerball and added the Power Play for $2 million.

Double Play numbers are 19, 31, 40, 42, 64, and the Powerball is 2.

Nobody matched all six numbers, and zero tickets matched all five numbers except for the Powerball worth $500,000.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday resets to an estimated $20 million with a cash option of $10.1 million, according to powerball.com.

Drawings are held three times per week at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

How much is a Powerball lottery ticket?

A single Powerball ticket costs $2. Pay an additional $1 to add the Power Play for a chance to multiply all Powerball winnings except for the jackpot. Players can also add the Double Play for one more $1 to have a second chance at winning $10 million.
