Winter 'Love Island' is back as ITV confirms two more series of the dating show in 2023

The winter sister show to Love Island is set for another series as ITV has confirmed it will run in the new year, with a summer series on the cards for 2023 too.
Love Island debuted its winter series which is set in South Africa in January 2020, but because of the coronavirus pandemic following shortly after the series end it has been unable to return so far.

Now, ITV has confirmed that the second winter series will go ahead on ITV2 from January 2023, kicking off a bumper year of Love Island as the summer series is a definite, too.
Director of reality commissioning and controller of ITV2 Paul Mortimer said: “Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience.
"So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show.”

The only winter series so far was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, who said: “Love Island enabled us to find love with someone that without the show, our paths would never have crossed. We both found everything that we’d asked for in a partner in each other and we now live together in Manchester (we’ve been here for almost two years). We’ve got a new amazing group of friends and literally couldn’t imagine life without each other.”
Later in the year, the main show will return to its base in Mallorca for another summer series.
The current series of Love Island started on 6 June and is due to run until August, with contestants moving into a brand new villa as the previous one has new owners.
One of the contestants looking for love is Gemma Owen, the 19-year-old daughter of footballer Michael Owen.
Love Island has seen a number of romance success stories so far, including four weddings, seven babies, and another baby on the way for season three couple Jess Shears and Dom Lever.
