A major snowstorm in the Northeast
A big snowstorm is expected to sweep across the Northeast today, bringing anywhere from a few inches to a foot of snow. It may be New York City’s biggest snowstorm in two years.
What to expect: The heaviest snow is expected to fall during the morning rush hour. Strong wind gusts across the region could contribute to lower visibility and impact travel. [NBC News]

About 44% of migratory species worldwide — including whales, sea turtles and some birds — are declining in population, according to a new U.N. report. It attributed the issue to habitat loss, illegal hunting and fishing and climate change. [AP]
🏈 Super Bowl overtime confusion
After their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, some San Francisco 49ers players said they misunderstood the new playoff overtime rules, which have been in place since 2022. [Yahoo Sports]
