Little Rock School District lists buildings damaged by winter storm

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Little Rock School District said Friday that this week’s winter storm caused damages to at least 13 schools in the district.

Below is the list of buildings affected by the snowstorm as of Thursday afternoon, according to LRSD officials:

Cloverdale Middle School

The water line burst in the cafeteria wall, leaving the kitchen and cafeteria flooded. The water has been removed from the cafeteria and the area is now dry. Three rooms are flooded due to a busted waterline. The water has been turned off on the main building while repairs are being made.

Fair Park Early Childhood Center

An outside water fountain burst. The water has been shut off and repairs will be made at a later date.

Fulbright Elementary School

Two water lines burst. The water has been turned off to the building until repairs can be made.

Little Rock Hall Steam Magnet High School

A water line burst in the kitchen. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Henderson Middle School

The roofs are leaking in the front office, gym and one of the rooms. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Jefferson Elementary School

A water line burst in the bathroom wall, affecting the lower hallway and five classrooms. The leak has been repaired and water has been cleaned up. The water will be turned back on to the school after a hole in the outside wall is plugged. The classroom carpets are scheduled to be cleaned.

Mabelvale Elementary School

An awning on the east side of the building collapsed. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Mabelvale Middle School

The water lines in both gym restrooms burst. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Otter Creek Elementary School

A water line on the cooling tower burst. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Parkview

A water line in the cooling tower burst and will be repaired when it thaws out. It is outside and has no effect on the building.

Pulaski Heights Elementary School

Radiators are leaking in the auditorium, one of the hallways and two rooms. The cafeteria is also flooded. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Pulaski Heights Middle

A water line burst above the restroom. The water leaked into the tunnel, so no classrooms were affected. The water line has been isolated to prevent further damage until repairs can be made. Businesses have been called to make repairs.

Williams Elementary School

A water line burst in the boiler room, but further water damage was prevented.

Little Rock School District Laidlaw Transportation

A water valve broke. Businesses have been called to make repairs.
