A winter storm warning and winter weather advisory have been issued for a portion of the Twin Tiers *EXPIRED*

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued the following alert:

WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
1 PM EST TUESDAY…

  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12
    inches.

  • WHERE…In New York, Delaware and Sullivan counties. In
    Pennsylvania, Bradford, Susquehanna, Northern Wayne, Wyoming,
    Lackawanna, Pike and Southern Wayne counties.

  • WHEN…From midnight tonight to 1 PM EST Tuesday.

  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
    conditions could impact the morning commute.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snowfall rates Monday night into Tuesday
    morning could approach 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. Highest
    snowfall totals will likely be in the Pocono Mountains with the
    lower end amounts farther north.

    If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
    your vehicle in case of an emergency.

    winter storm warning was cancelled.

The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snowfall is expected to be lighter than earlier forecasts as the storm track appears to have made a shift to the south. However, impacts to the morning commute are still expected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
