Winter weather advisory continues in Puget Sound as Tacoma expects more snow this week

South Puget Sound is starting the month of December with a winter weather advisory, as Tacoma is expected to receive more snow through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tacoma’s winter weather advisory is expected to end at 4 p.m. on Thursday, as the city is predicted to receive more snow throughout the day. The NWS expects a total daytime snow accumulation of one inch.

The NWS predicts a 30% chance of snow overnight into Friday morning, with a chance of snow before 11 a.m. The snow showers are expected to turn to rain, with temperatures between 34 to 37 degrees during the day.

Tacoma should not expect any more snow from Friday night through Wednesday morning, according to the current forecast.

Saturday’s forecast includes a 30% chance of rain before 11 a.m., followed by mostly cloudy weather with a high of 39 degrees. Sunday will be partly cloudy as well.

Tacoma is expected to start next week on Monday, Dec. 5 with partly sunny weather and a slight chance of rain from Monday night through Wednesday.
