Will a winter weather advisory mean more snow for Erie County on Tuesday?

While the bitter cold has been no stranger to Erie this winter, accumulating snowfall has been elusive. As a result, Erie County is behind pace and has a lower than average monthly snow total.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland doesn't expect the snow total to pick up the pace over the next week.

Weather advisory starts early Tuesday

The National Weather Service is calling for a winter weather advisory with a mix of precipitation to start at midnight and to continue until noon on Tuesday.

Erie is expected to see about an inch of total snow accumulation along with freezing rain and sleet before 4 a.m. Snow and freezing rain likely will follow until Tuesday after 4 p.m. when the wintry mix transitions to rain. A high temperature of 37 degrees is expected with a low of 32 Tuesday.

During the advisory, plan on slippery road conditions possibly impacting travel.

The NWS is predicting no snow for the remainder of the week following the advisory.
