These Wireless Bras Aren’t a Pain in the Back
Underwire bras can go from friend to enemy really fast. One wrong move, or one wash too many, and you can get poked by a wire.
Despite some of their downfalls, underwire bras are considered to be the ultimate when it comes to support. Supportive bras are important because without the necessary lift, your back and shoulders will ache.
At times, it feels like the only supportive bras on the market are underwire, but fortunately, that’s not true. There are supportive wireless bras available. These options are poke-free and offer enough reinforcement to keep your back from aching.
How to shop for a supportive wireless bra
The support in a wireless bra comes from the band, so it is essential that you are in the correct size.
“Wearing the wrong size bralette will not give you proper support and fit,” dermatologist and CEO of luxury lingerie retailer Journelle, Dr. Sapna Palep, told 21Ninety.
Dr. Palep says that a well-fitting bra doesn’t ride up as you move. Other features to look for are straps that don’t budge. Also a gap- or spillage-free fit around the sides and over the cups is important.
“Your bralette shouldn’t pinch, dig, or feel too constricting [either],” the dermatologist noted.
21Ninety has found a variety of supportive wireless bras that you’ll be happy to wear everyday.

Cosabella’s Never Say Never Curvy Plungie Longline Bralette is a wireless bra that doubles as a crop top. The lacey bra features a power mesh lining, plunge neckline, adjustable straps, and non-padded cups.

Shoppers that fall under “petite” can grab a bra in sizes 28A to 30D. “Regular” sizes cover 32A to 39D. If you wear a 28DD to 40H, then give “curvy” a try. “Extended” bras come in sizes 36DD to 40DD. And, “ultra curvy” is dedicated to those that wear a 30I to 36L.
