Wisconsin Herd acquires former Dominican High School star Alex Antetokounmpo in a trade

The Wisconsin Herd, the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, acquired the rights to former Dominican High School star Alex Antetokounmpo in a trade with the Toronto Raptors 905 for the rights of Jalen Lecque.

The Herd also acquired a second-round pick in the 2023 G League draft in the deal.

The 6-foot, 8-inch Antetokounmpo appeared in 15 regular season games last season with the Raptors 905 and averaged 2.6 points on 50% shooting. He also averaged 1.3 rebounds in about seven minutes per game. He also played in eight showcase games.

The Herd begins its season on Nov. 4.

Alex Antetokounmpo has yet to appear in an NBA game but he partnered up with older brothers Thanasis and Giannis of the Bucks in the skills challenge during NBA all-star weekend in February.

After earning two all-state nods while at Dominican High School, Alex Antetokounmpo elected to forgo college and turned pro after leaving high school. He spent one season in Europe before signing with the Raptors 905.
