Wisconsin man receives life sentence for murdering fellow inmate at Green Bay Correctional Institution
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 40-year-old Wisconsin man who was already serving time at the Green Bay Correctional Institution was sentenced to additional time behind bars on Monday for murdering a fellow inmate.
Joshua J. Scolman, 40, was sentenced to life in prison on top of his existing sentence for stabbing Timothy Nabors with an improvised weapon on October 21. Nabors was later declared brain-dead on October 26.
Emotions ran high in the Brown County Courthouse as the victim’s father addressed Scolman for the crime he committed against his son.
The judge made it clear that he believed mental illness played no part in Scolman murdering Nabors. He referred to the attack as a “thoughtful conviction.” Scolman is ineligible for parole.
