Wisconsin Police Officer on 'Duck Duty' Rescues Ducklings From Sewer

A Kaukauna Police Department officer went on “duck duty” to rescue several ducklings that fell through a storm grate in Wisconsin on July 8.

This video shows Kaukauna Police Department Officer Shanle standing in the sewer and pulling out the fallen ducklings one by one.

“Doesn’t help that I’m afraid of birds,” Shanle says as she plucks a squirming duckling from the drain.

The video shows Shanle rescuing at least six ducklings.

“She was able to rescue the ducklings and reunite them with their momma. The Duck family waddled away happily ever after!” the Kaukauna Police Department said on Facebook. Credit: Kaukauna Police Department via Storyful
