Wisconsin posts job openings for three football coaches, including both coordinators

MADISON – University of Wisconsin officials on Monday posted five job openings involving the football program, including three coaching positions.

Both coordinator positions have been posted, as well as an assistant coaching position, the head of strength and conditioning and an assistant strength and conditioning position.

The postings came one day after UW officials announced Luke Fickell had been hired as head coach.

All five postings are to remain open through 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 5.

Jim Leonhard, who served as UW’s interim head coach for the final regular-season games, has been the defensive coordinator since 2017. He is to be paid $1.5 million this season. His contract runs through Jan. 31, 2024.

Bobby Engram is in his first season as offensive coordinator. His contract stipulates he is to be paid $1 million this season and $1.1 million in 2023. His contract also runs through Jan. 31, 2024.

UW has had an open assistant position since Paul Chryst was fired on Oct. 2 and Leonhard was named interim head coach.
