Wisconsin is surrounded by states with legal cannabis. In response, Reddit has memes.

On Tuesday, Minnesota officially ratified a measure that would legalize recreational marijuana inside the state, marking the latest in a series of steps by Wisconsin's neighbors to embrace the drug. Wisconsin, meanwhile, continues to pass when others puff.

The Minnesota law, which goes into effect in August, permits usage for those over age 21 and on private land and residences. Medicinal marijuana use has been legal in Minnesota since 2014.

Iowa legalized medicinal marijuana in 2017, so every state that touches Wisconsin has at least some legal permissions around marijuana.

Minnesota is the 23rd state to legalize recreational use.
