Wisconsin teen arrested after a disturbance turns into a pursuit

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say a 17-year-old woman was arrested after a disturbance call Wednesday morning later turned into a pursuit.

According to a release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were made aware of a disturbance between a 17-year-old and a 41-year-old at 6:15 a.m. inside a residence on the 300 block of North Fourth Street in the village of Readstown.

The 17-year-old involved in the disturbance, Kira Claire Randall, and a 24-year-old man from La Crosse had left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

The Sheriff’s Office says it was able to determine that Randall and her passenger were driving a black, 2007 Ford Escape that was spotted going north on State Highway 35 near Genoa at around 7:30 a.m. by a trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The trooper then followed the vehicle in question and attempted to stop the vehicle south of La Crosse. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a short pursuit began and was later called off as they approached La Crosse due to heavy traffic and safety concerns.

In coordination between the La Crosse Police Department, the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol, authorities were able to find Randall and arrest her without any further incident.

Randall was taken to the Vernon County Detention Center before appearing in Vernon County Circuit Court at 2:45 p.m.

At this time, no injuries were reported during the incident and an investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
