Wisconsin Timber Rattlers name new manager for 2024 season, 12th in team’s history

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – The High-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, has named its new manager for the 2024 season, Victor Estevez.

Estevez led the Carolina Mudcats to the Carolina League playoffs in 2023 and is in his 12th season as a member of the Milwaukee organization. The Carolina Mudcats are the Brewers’ Single-A affiliate.

Estevez replaces former manager Joe Ayrault as the 12th manager in Timber Rattlers history and joins some returning coaches at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium for the upcoming season.

Estevez’s coaching staff includes:

  • Ken Joyce – Hitting Coach

    • Returning

  • Josh Spence – Pitching Coach

    • Returning

  • Jim Buckley – Strength and Conditioning Specialist

    • Returning

  • André Ruche – Development Coach

    • New to the staff and Brewers organization

  • Eric Bunnell – Development Coach

    • New to the staff and Brewers organization

  • Paul Gonzales – Athletic Trainer

    • New to the staff and Brewers organization

In 2023, Estevez was named the Carolina League Manager of the Year in his second year with the Mudcats after finishing with a 72-55 record, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2008. He is 302-300 in his minor league managerial career.

Estevez is a native of the Dominican Republic and played in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization from 2007 through 2010 after signing as an International Free Agent.

The 2024 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers season begins with a 6:40 p.m. game against the Peoria Chiefs at Neuroscience Group Field on Friday, April 5.
