WisDOT to share plans for State 42 project between Manitowoc and Two Rivers, plus more news in weekly dose.

MANITOWOC - Wisconsin Department of Transportation said it is preparing for an improvement project planned for 2025 on 4.5 miles of State 42 between Manitowoc and Two Rivers.

The purpose of the project, according to WisDOT, is to extend the service life and improve the riding surface of State 42. The existing pavement, beam guard and culverts are showing signs of deterioration, WisDOT said, adding the bridge deck on the West Twin River structure needs to be overlaid with new concrete to extend the bridge structure’s life.

Project improvements would include resurfacing in the project limits, culvert replacement, bridge deck overlay and curb ramp work.

The intersection at Mirro Drive and State 42 is proposed to be realigned for safety.

Traffic impacts would include flagging and a full closure for bridge/culvert work.

The construction would start in 2025.
