The Witcher spoilers follow.

The Witcher season three part two has officially arrived on Netflix – and Princess Ciri has a new friend.

In the new episodes, an exhausted Ciri (Freya Allan) can be seen battling the desert heat before she is found by a majestic white unicorn.

"I don't feel so good, Little Horse," she says.

The princess then asks to pet her new companion in order to ensure he's real and she's not hallucinating, but he begins to trot away as she pursues him.

Book readers will no doubt recognise the scene from The Time of Contempt, in which Ciri meets Ihuarraquax (aka Little Horse) in the Korath desert.

The two end up spending a few days together wandering the desert, establishing a strong bond and saving each other's lives in more way than one.

"It was great acting with the unicorn," Allan told Tudum. "I love horses. I did some practice with the horse and laid out in the desert with it."

"It's such an iconic moment in Ciri's journey, it's such a pivotal point. It's actually one of the most important journeys I've had with the character," the actress continued.

"No. 1: She has to survive. That makes her grow up in some ways. But also, the whole desert chapter is all about her trying to figure out herself."
