‘Witches’ raise over $33K to help families in Delray Beach

An October full of fundraisers, including Witchy Walk at the Sandoway Discovery Center, Witch Trivia and Witches Brew at Tim Finnegan’s, the Hocus Pocus Brunch at Del Fuego, culminated with a cackling good time at the 12th annual Witches of Delray Beach Bike Ride.

All of the witch-themed events helped raise over $33,000 to benefit the Achievement Centers for Children & Families in Delray Beach, which provides free, high quality, affordable early childhood education as well as after-school, teen and summer camp programs.

Over 400 “witches” traded their brooms for decorated bikes to ride from Anchor Park east to AIA along Casuarina Road, north to George Bush Boulevard and back along A1A guided by the Delray Beach Police Department.

After the ride, awards were presented to Brandy Lee (best costume), Luba Fry (best witch cackle), Dr. Francesca Lewis (best decorated bike) and Living the Dream Witches (best group theme) at Anchor Park.
