Wixom man injured in US 23 rollover crash in Hartland Township
HARTLAND TWP. — A Wixom man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 23 in Hartland Township, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle rollover crash at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, on south U.S. 23, south of Highland Road, in Hartland Township.
Preliminary investigation showed a 2009 Ford Fusion was traveling south on US. 23 when the vehicle lost control and left the roadway, striking a traffic signpost. The vehicle continued to travel off the road until it overturned several times, according to the sheriff’s office.
The vehicle was driven by a 49-year-old Wixom man. The sheriff’s office said he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was taken to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor with serious injuries. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor, but drugs do appear to be a contributing factor, according to the sheriff’s office.

The roadway was partially closed for about three hours for the investigation and clean up. The crash is under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau.
The Hartland Area Fire Department, Livingston County EMS and MDOT Courteous Patrol assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
