Wizkid And Burna Boy Are Set To Headline This Afrobeats Festival's First U.S. Event

Afro Nation, “the world’s biggest Afrobeats festival,” is back and will be making its debut in North America for the first time in May.

The music festival made an announcement on its Instagram back in Nov. 2022 that Miami, FL would be a new destination this year. And yesterday, official details and the lineup which features heavy hitters Burna Boy and Wizkid as the headliners dropped. The two-day festival will take place at LoanDepot Park on May 27 and 28.

The first wave of performers set to hit the stage is Jamaican Dancehall legend Beenie Man, Nigerian artists Rema and Asake, CKay, BNXN, Nissi, and Ghana’s own Black Sherif and Gyakie. In addition, French artists Franglish and Dadju and Cape Verdean-Dutch singer Nelson Freitas are also slated to perform with more to be announced in the coming months.

Afro Nation was launched in 2013 in Portugal and has since been making buzz globally. Ghana and Puerto Rico. In 2022, the Portugal stop had more than 40,000 attendees present with Megan Thee Stallion, Wizkid, and Burna Boy as the headliners. It’s been confirmed on the website that the festival will be returning to Portugal this summer June 28-30.

The goal of the music festival is to honor and give a platform to African music making a global impact in today’s music.
