Wizz Air suspends all flights from Chisinau starting March 14
“Safety of the passengers and crew remain Wizz Air's number one priority and following the recent developments in Moldova and the elevated, but not imminent, risk in the country's airspace, Wizz Air has made the difficult but responsible decision to suspend all flights to Chisinau from the 14th of March,” the statement reads.
After March 14, Wizz Air plans to introduce additional flights from the Romanian city of Iasi.

Wizz Air Twitter account, in response to questions from users, said that they have no information at the moment regarding when the flights will resume.
On Feb. 20 Zelenskyy asserted that Moscow was considering a coup d'état in Moldova by seizing an airfield in the capital of Chisinau and then transferring its troops there. Later, Moldovan PM Dorin Recean confirmed the report. He also called for Transnistria’s demilitarization and expulsion of Russian troops from the region.

The head of Moldova's Security Service, Alexandru Musteata, said Russia might launch an offensive against Moldova early in 2023. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that the Kremlin "has plans on" Poland, Baltic countries, and Moldova, but won't be able to realize them soon.

On Feb. 21, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin rescinded his decree “On measures to implement the foreign policy course of the Russian Federation,” signed back in 2012, which included the “respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.”
