Seattle Storm selects Madi Williams 18th overall in 2023 WNBA Draft

OU’s Madi Williams was taken by the Seattle Storm in the second round of the WNBA Draft on Monday.Williams was picked No. 18 overall, becoming the first Sooners draftee since Whitney Hand was picked in the third round in 2013.

Williams is OU’s highest pick since Danielle Robinson went sixth overall in 2011.

Williams averaged 16.1 points per game in her five-year Sooners career, including 15.7 this season in leading the Sooners to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.

She averaged 6.8 rebounds per game during her career.
