These WNBA players asked people to vote ... for Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s opponent

The saga surrounding U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Georgia) and the WNBA took another turn this week.

Loeffler, who wrote a letter to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert asking the league to drop its support for Black Lives Matter according to multiple reports, is also a co-owner of the Atlanta Dream.

The letter, which was penned prior to the WNBA season starting at the end of July in Bradenton, came after plans were unveiled for the players to wear warmup shirts that said, Black Lives Matter, and Say Her Name, on each side as well as having ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the courts.

Players throughout the league voiced their displeasure at Loeffler publicly in the days and weeks following the letter, with the Chicago Sky continuing that sentiment this week.

As the general election looms in roughly three months, Sky players wore T-shirts that said, Vote Warnock, on Tuesday. That references Raphael Warnock, who is running against Loeffler for her U.S. Senate seat.
