Building up an early lead and holding on, the Black Hills softball team defeated River Ridge Wednesday afternoon, 8-3.
The Wolves Ella Goheen had a strong day in the circle, pitching a complete game with two earned runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
On the other side at the dish, the Wolves gave her more than enough run support. Emma Arko went a perfect 3 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs, Tamera Rakevich went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Sam West knocked in three runs on a double.
The Wolves return to 2A Evergreen Conference play against Shelton at home on Friday.
