West Bromwich Albion are still searching for their first win under Sam Allardyce and head to similarly out-of-form Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The former Bolton, Newcastle and Everton manager has only earned one draw from his first five games in charge of the Baggies and their last league outing was a 4-0 drubbing by Arsenal.

Since then they have also been knocked out of the FA Cup by lowly Blackpool and remain 19th in the Premier League table with the worst defensive record of all 20 teams. It’s imperative that West Brom begin to close the gap soon if they aim to survive the drop, so a game at Wolves might come at an opportune moment.

Wolves did triumph in their own FA Cup match, a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, but they are on a run of five without a win in the league and have dropped to 14th place, losing 2-1 to Everton in midweek.

Injury issues are hampering Wolves’ attacking thrust and there could be at least one player starting this game who was, until recently, on loan elsewhere after being deemed surplus to requirements.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game.

When is the match?

The game kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday, 16 January 2021, at Molineux.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate. It will also be streamed across the BT Sport app and desktop website for subscribers.

What is the team news?

Adama Traore has a knock and may be added to the Wolves injury list which already contains Daniel Podence, Raul Jimenez and Jonny. Marcal is also likely to miss out again, while Willy Boly is a doubt. Patrick Cutrone could come into the line-up after his recall from a loan spell.

West Brom are without the suspended Conor Gallagher and injured Karlan Grant, while Hal Robson-Kanu has a broken arm so is unlikely to feature.

Confirmed line-ups

Wolves XI: Rui Patricio, Boly, Coady, Saiss, Semedo, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Neto, Adama Traore, Fabio Silva

West Brom XI: Button, O'Shea, Ajayi, Bartley, Gibbs, Snodgrass, Sawyers, Livermore, Grosicki, Pereira, Robinson

Odds

Wolves - 7/11

Draw - 29/10

West Brom - 33/5

Prediction

Wolves could look even more disjointed in attack with a few players out injured, and if the game is won by either team it could be via a set-piece or a moment of individual ingenuity. Otherwise, a stalemate of fear could ensue. Wolves 0-0 West Brom
