Woman, 41, pulled from river in Trumbull

A Bridgeport woman died Thursday night after being pulled from a river in Trumbull, police said.

People at the Pequonnock River saw the unresponsive woman in the water and called 911, police said. Trumbull officers, firefighters and medics arrived, removed her from the river and worked to revive her.

She was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, where she later died, police said.

Members of the Trumbull detective division and dive team responded to the river to investigate the death of the woman, who police said was 41 years old.

The part of the river where the woman was found is a restricted area, police said, and swimming and other water activities are prohibited.
