Woman, 85, suffers head injury during Near North Side purse-snatching, man charged, police say
A man is accused of shoving an 85-year-old woman to the ground and stealing her purse on the Near North Side on Tuesday.
Tony Davis, 45, was arrested Friday for an unrelated CTA violation and identified as the man involved in the Tuesday morning attack.
Davis, of the 6100 block of South Vernon Avenue, faces felony charges of robbery and aggravated battery to a person over 60, and one misdemeanor charg
e for violating CTA rules.
