Woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend last year after argument over pregnancy

Mar. 30—HARVEYS LAKE — Investigators have filed an arrest warrant against a woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the neck during a dispute about whether she should get an abortion.

State police and Luzerne County detectives have charged Isabella Sobejano, 20, with aggravated assault and simple assault.

They accuse her of stabbing Samuel Parente in the neck with a knife on June 15 at a boat house at Harveys Lake.

Authorities said the couple met to talk about her pregnancy and then Sobejano stabbed Parente in the neck after claiming to want to test his pulse rate. She made him lie on the floor for the test, police said.

The couple met while students at Wyoming Seminary, police said.

Arrest papers say Sobejano claimed Parente attacked her with the knife, but investigators say physical and DNA evidence support Parente's version of events.

The incident occurred at 370 Lakeside Drive, Harvey's Lake.
