Woman airlifted from Baw Beese Lake after boating crash

A woman was airlifted from Baw Beese Lake early Friday morning after two fishing boats collided.

The accident occurred in what is referred to as Second Lake near Sandy Beach.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire said the woman was ejected from the boat and suffered head trauma, as well as a laceration to her leg.

First responders were able to pull the woman from the water within minutes, Hodshire said.

A landing zone was setup for Life Flight out of St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, near the lake with assistance of the Hillsdale City Fire Department and Hillsdale City Police Department.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Marine Patrol Division.
