For most women make-up is the last thing on their minds when they’re in labour - while awaiting painful contractions, thoughts of primers and lipstick shades probably don’t register.

Not the case for this beauty blogger.

Alaha Majid made sure she had her kit to hand during her labour, turning her hospital bed into a bonafide beauty station in order to apply full makeup.

Keeping her 69K Instagram followers up to date with her look during her labour she posted a series of photos, including one explaining how she fitted in the makeover:

“I was pausing during contractions and picking up where I left off once the contractions passed. I only packed some of my favourite products in my hospital bag.”

In case you want to replicate Alaha’s look (you will need a very large hospital bag), here’s just some of the products she used: Huda Beauty lashes, two types of liquid lipstick, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ contour kit, a 35 shade eyeshadow palette and a “few other products.”

Help was at hand from Alaha’s husband for the finishing touches [@MakeupByAlaha]

With a little help from her husband, Alaha nailed her glam make-up look in time to welcome her daughter, Sofia Alaya Karimi, into the world.

“Baby Sofia was born on February 15, 2016 at 6:19pm weighing 8lbs 13oz and a height of 21.5 inches. Mash'allah!” she captioned her glam birth photo [top].
