Woman arrested after allegedly running over man with SUV

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman has been arrested after allegedly running over a man with her car in the South Madison neighborhood, leaving him with life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., Portland police officers responded to a report of the crash at Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 92nd Avenue.

When officers and paramedics arrived, they found the injured man, who was then taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators found the man had been hit by the driver of a 2007 Toyota Sequoia SUV, identified as 23-year-old Nicole Land.

While Land remained at the scene, officers noticed she was impaired and arrested her on suspicion of DUII.

Land was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on further charges of second-degree assault and reckless driving.

Police say the case remains under investigation.
