Woman arrested for suspected break-in at a house

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a house at Li Hwan Close.

In a statement released on Tuesday (10 May), the police said that cash and various jewelleries worth about $9,000 were found missing in the house.

Following a report on Monday (9 May) made by the victim, a 44-year-old man, the police arrested the suspect on the same day around Jalan Tanjung.

After investigation, the police said that the suspect likely entered the victim’s house through the unsecured rear gate.

The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday (11 May) for the offence of housebreaking and theft by day. If found guilty, she faces a maximum jail term of up to 10 years.
