Woman arrested for hit-and-run following crash with motorcyclist on Highway 99

A Eugene woman was arrested Wednesday for a suspected hit-and-run crash between a motorcycle and a sedan on Highway 99 Tuesday night.

The crash left the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries, Eugene police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin said in a news release.

The crash happened at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Highway 99. The driver of the vehicle, a white Mercury Milan, was located soon after at the intersection of Fairfield and Wood avenues, McLaughlin said.

The suspect, a 32-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, she said.

Police have been in investigating the crash, and the victim, a 55-year-old Eugene resident, has remained in the hospital as of Wednesday morning.
