Woman breaks 2 barriers as 1st female general manager of Modesto Nuts, 1st Latina GM of a minor league team

Veronica Hernandez is in a league of her own. She became the first Latina to be general manager of a minor league baseball team and the first woman GM for the Modesto Nuts. Hernandez started out as the Director of Marketing for the Seattle Mariners affiliate in 2018. She said, due to pandemic-related furloughs, she took on many tasks over the last two years that have helped shape her experience. “From there, I feel like I grew the most because I got to learn and understand every department and where the struggles where and the successes,” Hernandez said.
