Woman charged with kidnapping missing girl claims father sold toddler for $10K, reports say
YORK, Pa. - A missing child case out of Pennsylvania over the weekend has taken an odd turn. Pennsylvania State Police are still looking for 2-year-old Nalani Johnson out of Penn Hills after an initial Amber Alert on Saturday.
According to Allegheny County Police Department, the driver of the car involved in the incident, Sharena Nancy, has been found and charged. WTAE says Nancy told police that the girl's father "sold" her to "an unnamed individual" for $10,000.
Nancy went on to tell police that she gave the girl to a person with a silver SUV and out-of-state-plates, WTAE reports.
But, police have not found any evidence that points to the involvement of an SUV.
According to the criminal complaint, Nalani's father is telling a different story from Nancy. He told police that Nancy took off with the 2-year-old in the car when he got out at an intersection.
Allegheny County Police released information Sunday that said the the 2017 black Toyota Yaris, bearing PA license plate KLW3926, traveled to the Blairsville, New Alexandria and Delmont areas of Westmoreland County during the 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. time frame.
Allegheny County Police and the FBI are still searching for Nalani. Officials are asking that anyone who may have seen anything of interest in those areas to contact the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477); callers can remain anonymous.
